I have been born in Russia and have lived in Winnipeg for the last 42 years. Teaching is my calling and I love every minute that I am spending with students big and small. Among my many degrees I am most proud of my Master in Education and Technology and the second one in Second Language Acquisitions. I have been teaching at the university level for the past two years and am working on developing a technology course for future teachers in our faculty. My work at the school level is fulfilling and I hope that in some small way I am affecting the development of students in positive ways.

Hello Mrs. Kiva!
I'm not sure if you remember me, but you were my teacher in grade 6 (1994). I was going through the course calendar at UofW and saw your name. I could not believe it! If you have not had the pleasure of being taught by this exceptional woman you have missed out. Years after I lost my way however, when I sat down and decided to get down to business I searched for whom or what was my inspiration to find a new path. Mrs. Kiva was the first that came to my mind and I remembered what I am capable of and what I wish to do with my life. That is too teach. I have been blessed with other teachers recently that has strengthened this new ambition of mine and so I've applied at uofw. I am not sure if I will end up taking one of your classes but I am excited to be able to touch base! I hope all is well and I hope that you know how much you ment and had an impact in my life.
