I am studying to become a teacher and I think that I can become a better teacher by expanding my circle with more international teachers. My hope is to be able to collaborate and become more well rounded teacher.
I am studying to become a teacher and I would love to collaborate and work with other teachers from around the world. I would like to teach children ages 5-8. What grade or ages do you teach? What inspired you to become a teacher?
You mentioned that in your educational environment there is a reluctance to give financial support to technology - that always amazes me! It seems so obvious that the world in which the learners live is technology-fertile; and, we cannot educate for that world in a school which is technology-barren.
Do you think there will be an awakening among those who make financial decisions and funds will begin to flow into schools? Wonder what would provoke that kind of an awakening. Love to hear your thoughts.
Hi Laura!
Happy New Year! It was nice to hear from you. I would be more than happy to share my experience as I work my way through the E-Learning graduate program at UW-Stout. I am taking the courses online and have been very happy with the program overall. The professors are amazing! Let me know if you are interested and I would be happy to send you the link.
Hi Laura,
Nice to have you as a colleague! I was 4th grade for 16 years and have been the Ed Technologist for the past 8. I recently applied for a new position in our district called the 'District Ed Tech', our headquarters called today and offered the position and I accepted and my stomach has been in knots ever since! Starting something new is always as scary for me as it is exciting. Since I will be the pioneer in this position for my district, the playing field is wide open which is also nice but scary.
I need help with doing this 2.0 stuff. I am ashamed to say I am apparently comin in on the tail-end of this. Any advice on how to best use this site would be appreciated.
I work for the Dept. of Defense schools. We have schools stateside (DDESS) and in Europe and the Pacific (DODDS). We get students and teachers who have been all over the world.
Thanks for your kind words - so far everything is fine in the city of Bangkok, just the airports are affected. We'll see what happens over the coming days and weeks.
So glad my blog was helpful for you and so nice to find you here on Classroom 2.0 :) Don't know if you made the connection, but Susan Souza and I work at the same school :)
