Areas to consider when setting-up a 1:1 iPad scheme in an educational K12 environment. http://wp.me/p1cQjT-39
Please let me know how other schools have successfully implemented a 1:1 or 1:2 iPad scheme.
I think all of these products are the "right" product. My thinking is that the platform is not important but rather having connected classrooms where students use 1:1 as a learning process is the goal. I love Ubuntu and the fact that they have a netbook version is even better. I can't think of a more robust, cost efficient option for 1:1 schools. Plus, then all web based, free options like Google Apps are on the table. Basically are looking at $300 for a really good netbook with Ubuntu. Not bad at all! Great conversation, thanks for sharing!
Cprofitt,
Your points are taken and I understand the different views for different types of educational establishments, especially when money and budgets are very important.
Maybe I should have said that my educational establishment is looking at using as much of the free applications that are available (which includes Google Apps for Education).
Or Maybe I am just a dedicated Apple educator.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the Digital Technology market over the next 5 years.
Looking at current research and using current personal experiences - I have looked at linking Teacher Appraisal to Teacher Training in a 1:1 Laptop School with reference to 21st Century Teaching Pedagogies http://wp.me/1cQjT
Would welcome criticism, ideas and suggestions
I've always wondered if we could better funding on a state or national level for even better deals for students and staff to purchase or rent.
I have attended a divisional meeting regarding the possibility of purchasing iPads for some of classrooms as a way to conduct research of its feasibility. Does anyone have information on classrooms using iPads? Any suggestions or advise would be appreciated.
