Hi, I'm new to Second Life, but I'm on a Second Life committee at the college that I work at. I thought I better learn more about it.

Hi, just a cross post for http://secondclassroom.ning.com - a place for educators looking at/using Second Life and/or other virtual worlds and gaming in edu. We also have the edublogger nominated http://teensecondclassroom.ning.com - in which we've formed groups for kids to reflect via blogging on their vw experiences and projects.

In 2009, in conjunction with Jo Kay and a few others, we will be starting to develop a framework of curriculum based activities to assist people in starting up classes. The outcome we hope will encourage people to further develop and share activities to build 21C skills in students and further extend the interoperability of vws and classroom learning. Please feel free to drop by. 2008 was spent just seeing who is doing what, in 2009 I hope that we can begin to develop some engaging and structured learning activities.

I am presenting to a conference on Second Life for beginners. I am going to show them Orientation Island and ISTE Island and some of the obvious choices like the Sistine Chapel. If you have a hidden gem, please share. Thanks

Hi, I'm from an art museum and we're looking for exciting things to do with our island. Does anybody have any good ideas about innovative ways other museums have used second life?

Try the ISTE island. There's a host usually on duty in the evenings to facilitate a visit. Sundays there's a tour of places in SL, Tuesday there's a forum and on Thursdays there's a social on the beach. Tons of fun and personal networking.

Dear Secondlife friends, It's really nice to be in your touch. I'm a school teacher from Nepal. I run a small school for children of poor families in a rural area. I've found Ning Teachers' social networking so nice. But i'm not good at technology and we dnt' have frequent access of Net. I need to go to the town to hire it. Our school do not have access of technology. Plz let me know how i can be benefited from this teachers' networking. I wish i were rich enough to have net at home and school. savschool2000@yahoo.com
