Thanks for commenting -- I'm glad you like it! To create my "peeps" I used the letter "j" and played with the sizes of the parts to see what personalities I could evoke. I asked myself curiosity questions like, "what does the peep look like if I.... remove the eyes or change the size of them? remove the mouth? change the direction of the arms or legs?" Then I thought about my family, and their personalities. My son enjoys getting in trouble, my husband is the law enforcer, I'm always running with my hair on fire, and my daughter is full of energy and joy. I think a similar exercise could easily be done in the classroom -- even with cut paper!
