Hi William, thanks for replying. Ok, I realise now that I can't just set up Moodle on my personal laptop. I was hoping to play around and learn before I launched out into the public Moodle world. We are about to close our school year and we start the new year about mid January (it's our summer here of course). I'd love to set up some sort of collaboration but to date our school does not have a connection in the lab so I have to be a bit creative. I could set up a blog with information about our school and get the learners to tell some things of interest about themselves. If they wrote their stories in Word I could then copy and paste to the blog from home. Perahps your kids could write emails to a gmail address in response. I could set up an account for that purpose. Just maybe by February our principal will be more open to having a connection.
I have built an intranet website in our lab so I could use that to save your learners responses. It just means having to be really creative. :-) We'll get there......
You replied to one of my comments and I thought I would contact you. Moodle is a server based program so you have to have access to a server and a mysql database.
I am interested in collaboration though. My students live in such a small sheltered town and I need to expose them to as much of the world as possible. Email me if you would like to talk more. west.4me@gmail.com
