I'm not a huge technology buff but keen to have a look and get educated! Primary school stuff that's useful for interactive whiteboards is where I'm at for the moment.

Hi Katie,
Yes, there are "cons" to looping and we had to vote again this year whether we wanted to keep looping but the advantages seem to outweigh the negatives. For sure, teachers don't want to keep the difficult ones, and we have our share, but it really helps when you have a weak student. Keeping that consistency and the relationship going often is a big help. I like looping, myself. I have 4 more years before I retire and hope that it will be just two groups. I love the name, Hannah! I would love to keep in touch. We have other classes that are getting into all this technology stuff so I'm sure I could pair you up with an older grade if you are working - even part time. Are you on summer break? We are... until the end of August.
Hi Katie,
I left a comment for you on the introductions page. I am new at this and don't know if you'll see it. I just noticed your comment to me - tonight. Would love it if our classes could connect next year. I will be teaching grade 1 - What grade will you have?
Thanks Helen,
I must admit to reading your intro and some of your conversations and being rather overawed! My school is pushing to be a forerunner in the introduction of the Ultranet in the South-East but I'm a part-time Arts teacher (who used to be full-time senior school until my now 2y-o came along). I'm feeling rather left behind in the technology race and hope that these conversations and info sharing may help me stay connected! Maybe we'll cross paths in daylight one of these days. Thanks for the welcome xK
Hello Katie,
Welcome to Classroom 2.0. This is a great place to learn and share. If you look down the right side bar you will find a link to IWBs that may be useful.
Cheers,
Helen (also Melbourne)
