Hi Michael,

With your studies in Web 2.0 Technology at Indiana University, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.

Here’s a Public Class on Technology Integration you might be interested in.

Michael,
The opportunities you have opening in the field of technology as a beginning educator are awesome. It almost ... makes me want to go back to school! : )
In all practicality, the use of the wiki in a computer lab setting would be best. Carine is a computer lab teacher and is able to incorporate her wiki work more easily than I can as a regular classroom teacher who is only able to take students to the computer lab once a week. I use it collaboratively for writing and other projects for my 8th grade class. I have a class of 15 and use whole group instruction. It is a very driven class; some do work at home, but for the most part, I only require them to work on it while we are in the lab. I have not used web 2.0 with them specifically, but the possibilties are only limited to your imagination and (realistically) the time you and your students have to put into it. I hope this answers your question.
