The new Bloom's taxonomy lists "creating," as the top level; consequently, I am quite interesed in developing lessons that encourage the creative mind. The respectful and ethical minds bring to mind my basic character education. I feel that this is extremely important for students going into the workforce and world in general. I think students need to reflect on the question posed in the article: "what kind of a world would I like to live in". This goes back to the golden rule of "treat others as you would want to be treated". I think that we helping to educate students who have an eclectic composition. Our students' minds must be disciplined, respectful, creative, able to evaluate and synthesize information while also being ethical. Each part of the student's mind will help them be successful in all of the different aspects of their lives...personally, professionally and spiritually.

I have found that if I allow my students to assume the role of the teacher when it comes to technology, I learn sooooo much! Students are able to multitask and I have tried so hard the past couple of weeks to try to allow my students to venture out in the networking world. I do have to stay on top of the monitoring, but they have risen to the occassion and increased my trust level with them! Teaching Networked Students has changed the whole dynamics of the classroom atmosphere.

I teach the Tech Team course here at Muscle Shoals High School. The course is basically a web design course that teaches students the basics of web design and development with the following programs: HTML coding, Frontpage, and Dreamweaver. We also look at Adobe Photoshop software to edit pictures. The course is a prerequisite to Web Page Staff so it is essential that they learn to work together as a team to complete tasks. I love the idea of more technology in the classroom. I know i could use blogs and wikies. But I am not sure how to use it with my lesson resposible students. I hope since it uses several of the things they love like technology and being social they would be more responsible about the assignment. I am ready to try it out...

I really enjoy doing an activity in class that makes them use teamwork and their math skills. I put 4 kids in a row. The first student has a piece on paper. I give them a problem or a series of problems. The work is passed back as each student does a step to it. I allow the student in front to critique the other student work. I do not use technology at this time with this activity. But the more I think about it I believe I could use a series of wiki spaces and let each group work and critique… Continue

I believe most people have a little bit of several of the minds. For example most professions require you to be disciplined. You need to continue to become more eduacted and mindfull of your field. I think its impossible to be an educator and not want to be more and more disciplined in your area. I not only like to be disciplined in math but also education, it changes so much I hope I always learn and grow.
