Technology supports for special needs

I've spent 35+ years as a special education teacher. Each year I find that the more I use technology to support, bridge, overcome learning issues in my students, the more I and others see what they can do. The "dis" falls away from abled and they succeed. I wish I had learned this sooner.

AMSU Course 2007

I´ll be in Amsterdam from 12 - 19 August 2007 to learn about video and audio use in the classroom. I look forward to my stay there, hoping to learn a bit more about teaching CALL. The course is Comenius funded and the program looks very promising. My profile on the left hand side should tell you a little bit more about myself and my interests, although the personal part is rather scarce. I wonder if you can say this in English?

The Bible 2.0 in a 'light' and a 'stronger' version

Suggestion of joining Classroom 2.0

Slideshows, 2.0 way

I gave a try to the slidy slideshow solution, to publish a slideshow directly in the browser, using web 2.0 technologies (in fact, strictly javascript -- see also S5, by Eric Meyer). The result is not bad at all... at least when viewing it on my large screen mac.

Oh, the Photos...

The young lady is my daughter, the absolute LOVE of my life...she's giving a swimming lesson here, because at one time she was one of the fastest of her kind on the face of the planet, and the dolphin would do well to listen carefully...the other is my summer 'hobby'...building Adirondack furniture...and this is not ordinary stuff, folks...I drive to Beaver, Utah (3 hours south...) and have the LOGS sawn up individually and planed to 1" thickness 200 to 300 board feet at a time, then I drive it… Continue

21st century classrooms

I’ve just returned from a week of holidaying and relaxing. I was away from access to all technology and that was good. I enjoyed not going through my gmail, RSS feeds, email, Classroom2.0, twitter, blogs

and online information. Now that I’m back, I’ve spent time sifting
