I've had the students create their blogs on the schools intranet worpressMU installation. So far I've got 25 of 60 blogs set up. Their were/are some minor problems, but I will get them all a blog eventually.

I had student reactions ranging from this is very cool ... all the way to you can't make us do this. It is math class and some of them are excited about reading and blogging and some not so much.

My Condolences To Fellow Teacher

I normally like to post with ways to help others or something positive, but today is something that is very disturbing and sad. A teacher that I knew at a high school that I taught at for three years was stabbed and killed by a student this week. It's really sad and aggravating, as this teacher was trying to make a difference in this world. He had mentioned to his family members that he felt that he had found his calling in life. How To Run A 3D Maths Test

As some of you may be aware I have been teaching a maths unit this semester, which although is out of my usual subject area of Phys Ed, Is probably shaping up to be one of my favourite classes. I used to be a "Lurker"

It‘s almost comical how long it has taken me to become a contributor to the online community. To the online community I would be referred to as a lurker. The word “lurker” sounds evil but in reality a lurker is someone who reads and observes social networks but rarely contributes. I compare it to the student in the back of the classroom that never participates in the discussions but knows the content as well or better than those students participating. New Bluetooth Mouse

Today I took delivery of a Bluetooth Rocketfish Wireless Laser Mouse! It connected to my Macbook with no problem at all and looks great. It has a range of about 30 feet, like most Bluetooth mice, and should be a useful tool for my classroom. No longer will I need to stand next to the LCD projector with my laptop.
