Could we add informatics or computer science?

Absolutely. :) Do you consider them the same, or do they need separate categories?

Steve thanks for moving us along in the area of common tags. What do you think about adding a tag for Moodle.

Well, I haven't wanted to be brand-specific, so I created "cms" for content-management. Same issue with some Google tools. :) Let me know what you think--is "cms" enough, or do we need a separate "moodle" tag?

What about that growing contingent who think standardised tagging is not needed?

Well, without standardized tagging in Ning, there would be no mechanism for easily finding certain discussion threads.

I haven't really made myself aware of the arguments for and against standardized tagging, but here in Classroom 2.0 I think they provide some benefit.

CMS works greta...did i miss it before or did you just add it. As for the standerdized tags...I think it is a great addition to Ning!

Steve,

We need a tag for English as a foreign language. [ English as a second language also but I think that EFL should be the all inclusive tag} That is my area and I also run a ning and will tag with efl or efl20 in the case of technological applications. Would that make the standard?

OK, I added "efl" for English as a foreign language. Let me know if it seems OK. :)

efl is perfect, short and simple....I'll be a using it.

Thx. DD
