Hope you're enjoying the winter break. I was wondering if you, your educator contacts or students would be interested in participating in a nationwide Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to get more students involved from Virginia!
You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
I just joined this group, but came across your post and thought I'd see if you'd found anything great yet? I'm an art museum educator and we just bought an island on the Adult grid that we're working on being creative with. What has your school done so far?
The Topeka/Shawnee County Library in Topeka, KS has an island on the teen grid. They've had students design a riverwalk plaza area in second life for the real project in Topeka (don't think they were necessarily used). Also, one of the coolest things I've seen done with SL is by a middle school teacher in NYC -- here's a link to that
Hello Paul and welcome. I am an IT teacher and we are trying to develop the use of web2.0 across our school. We have started with baby steps, using basic technology that would be useful for teachers in their own personal lives. This gives them confidence and the chance to consider possible applications in their classroom.

I like the Land of Lincoln Island. Just thought I'd pass that along.
