I'm Jenn Stevens, and I'm a native Bostonian who now lives near Davis Square in Somerville. For the last 10 years I've been teaching preschool, so I'm not super tech-savvy... I have been much more likely to steer parents away from educational media rather than towards it!

I became more interested in educational technology relatively recently when working as a nanny for a wonderful girl who has ADD and dyslexia. School and homework are not usually fun for her, but she will play computer games for hours - I became interested in technological ways to improve her reading skills while making learning feel like a game.

Hope you're enjoying the winter break. I was wondering if you have any 2ndary education contacts who would be interested in participating in a nationwide Vocab Video Contest @ MIT. We're trying to get the word out as much as possible because the more videos we get, the more helpful we can be!
