incorporating video

Posted on July 17, 2007 at 11:06pm 4 Comments

I will be working on an interesting multimedia presentation and I was wondering if anyone knows of some copyright friendly sites that would allow students to download educational videos in order to incorporate parts of the video into MovieMaker. We can't access Youtube in our district, so that is not an option.

Thanks so much,

Chris

Converting applications for free

I am working on a project for my Master's in Technology about software available that can convert various applications to other formats. After doing a lot of research, I found a site that many of you might be interested in looking at. It is free and will convert your word documents to PDFs, convert Flash to Windows Media and more. If anyone knows of more sites like this, I would love to look at them.…

Not on Twitter yet. I've avoided it since I'm finding staying on top of these social networking sites a little overwhelming. How have you found it different/ or more beneficial? Maybe I don't know enough about it.

Hi Chris,

I finally got around to creating a profile for myself. I thought I might find you here!

Hi Chris. I was wondering if your students would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. If not, perhaps you have some educator contacts you could direct me to. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the kind words. I have not been that attentive to ning but have come back just to see what else I can do. Myspace and Facebook sort of priorities due to the work I now find myself immersed in and I love it.

Should update you a little on what I have been up too - or google me - it scares me still and sometimes I think my fingers should be glued together.

Any questions, input etc I can answer or offer - just ask away, as I will be playing in ning again, like you over the break.

Hi Chris,

I read your post about incorporating video. I'm an EFL instructor, training teachers. You can access my site www.ddd.batcave.net and through it, use my library of videos. Downloadable, for students. I've also got lots of presentations in .swf and ppt which would be good models. Need an invite to these folders and if you want one, just send me an email address.

Great to see teachers teaching "through" multimedia and getting the students to muckabout and produce and then share.

Hi Chris, I have not attended TIE, but look forward to it next year, heard it's great! Your technology info looks interesting - I'll have to explore your home page further.

I just want to thank the invitations to be part of their network. I will post questions as they arise. I am excited about the potential benefits of this network.
