They used power point for their template for their frame, word art for the title, typed in a brief summary of their person or event, illustrated the event with colored pencils, scanned and then imported the jpg into movie maker. My job is to travel our district and support technology integration into all grades K-12. Our focus is Web 2.0 (the read/write web) and we have been using Digital Storytelling in the elementary grades with huge success. At the middle level we have students using wikis to create their own collaborative novel, using a theme from the teacher. The cool thing about this is the students are from two different schools...collaborating. Amazing! The best PD so far for me was the FETC conference in Orlando. It was an "awakening" moment for me. There is so much to do for elementary level and the kids catch on so fast.
