NECC 2007

I was able to attend the National Educational Computing Conference this year in Atlanta and loved it! Now I'm thinking about changing my career focus from technology hardware/software support to instructional technology. I'm looking forward to hearing and sharing more ideas about technology in k-12 education!

After the show

Realising that even the keynote speakers are not fully aware of the revolution that this 2.0 software can cause. Brought down with a bump by the reality of inappropriate use of voice threads by some of my students... or was it just creative play ??

A Network of Peers - How Cool!

Converting applications for free

I am working on a project for my Master's in Technology about software available that can convert various applications to other formats. After doing a lot of research, I found a site that many of you might be interested in looking at. It is free and will convert your word documents to PDFs, convert Flash to Windows Media and more. Lifelong Learner and Teacher?

I am just finalizing my tenure as tech liason with the Buhler site of the South Central Kansas Writing Project this week (sckwp.wikispaces.org) and will move on to the East High School site next week. While I realize that not every teacher is as tech savvy or as open to technology as I am, sometimes I really wonder. iLove my iPhone!

I just got an iPhone and WOW! it is so amazing I can hardly put it down. I am not normally a gadget person, but the beauty of this phone just sucked me in. And no, I didn't have to wait in line for it. I went to the store and asked for one, easy as that. Setting it up was just as easy. Using Google My Maps to Merge Past, Present and Future

ICT show

I'm off to an ICT show at Torquay in the morning. My school has a display stand there where we are promoting creativity and collaboration.

We have a selection of students' work online and some great ideas.

I was just wondering how many of those at the show will be trying out web 2.0 apps and joining social networks like this...

Attending the Technology Education Conference in Colorado

I had a wonderful experience attending my first education technology conference. NECC 2007 - WEB 2.0 arrived?

There's a lot web 2.0 stuff going on this year. However, I'm not sure if that's the case, or I'm just more tuned into it. Either way, it's fun to see people like RIchardson, Jakes, and warlick in the flesh.
