Ken, My 5th graders are going to participate in a songwriting workshop with Steve Seskin(www.steveseskin.com) in a few weeks and I wondered if I could try to post some of the work for your kids to respond to.  I haven't done this so it may not work.  We love working with Steve and perhaps your school will want to also.  See his website for songs written with Steve and other songs he is better known for. 

Hi, Ken! Thanks for your kind words. I am very impressed of your work too.I saw your site - you have been doing magnificent things with your kids. Our school year starts on the 15 th of September, so my pupils and me will be honored to collaborate with such musicians as you are. My school is the unique one in Bulgaria with that we have an opera studio made from kids to kids and a music class at primary level of education.
I teach English in primary level classes (3rd and 4th graders) and some of my pupils are "actors" in the opera studio. I know Voicethread but have never used it... That can be fixed ;) Skype and Glogster we use regularly. You can call me on Skype for further cooperation if you'd like. We are opened to collaborate!

And if you want to join our edmodo page, the code you have to type is 5cxobc.You can also give that code to your students so that they can communicate with my students over here. I have a group of crazy intelligent girls and boys who are now playing around with google translate. Funny when you read them.
I knew about people using Voicethread but havent tried it yet but if you were going to use that then I think I will choose one fine day and sit in front of my computer and play around. I'll come back and tell you later, kay :-)

Hi Ken. Yes yes ! I love the idea of collaborative learning for my students and my students love it too. We have been doing some shared learnings on the same topic you mentioned like culture and heritage. And we do on skype video calls and emails and blogs. And your class could also join us in our edmodo.

Ken Greene- thank you very much message.I teach in paramedic college and i have been pioneering e learning and integrating e learning with regular curricula.Now, this type of learning is very very new,however, i am will try and link you up with some international school that has a lot of locals- i know a teacher that we have working together in installing and configuring Moodle-our last meeting were working on the grade book of Moodle- he is also going to introduce e learning in his school- but i will naturally try my best, feel free to push me, currently i am the local guru in terms of e learning and also fixing small silly problems with ICT ie blown fuse or unplugged cable.Bottom it is quite new, may be your students may guide the students on that field. Thanks ken, i am passionate with web 2.0 tools and i like helping

I haven't been on here since the fall and just saw your message. Sounds interesting. What grade level(s) do you teach? I am at a school in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada and teach Gr. 7/8 Strings as well as Core French, Language and Computers. I am familiar with Voice Thread but haven't used it at school yet. If you are still interested in setting something up, let me know.

Hey Ken, just a note to say hello - and I still think about the hoop dancing and trying to get it set up. I took on another consulting job and WOW - time is valuable. I don't want to let your kids down and my kids still ask, so........I will try to make this a priority to get planning! Jeannine

Hello Ken!
Indeed, our methodology allows our students to decide a lot of things. I have been developed it for the last 3 years and now I think we have achieved a very reliable technic to NOT teach, but let them learn by themselves. I am finishing a book about our work, and I intend to publish it in english too (now it is only in portuguese). As soon as the english version is ready, I will send you a copy to have your feedback.

Thank you for your invitation. Yes, we are very interested on this kind of cultural exchanging. Unfortunatly we are almost finishing this year and closing for summer holliday. Would you like to start next year? Our classes will start on february.
We have a very peculiar methodology, based on projects completed decided by the children. They decide the theme and the activities and we insert the knowledge we must teach. I think our children have a lot of stories to tell and a lot of ideas to exchange.

Hi Ken, Yes! Yes! Yes! We would be very keen - we are a multi-cultural school in West Auckland NZ. At the moment our main concept is 'Celebrations' - so linking up and celebrating our similarities and differences would be awesome. My learners are a little bit younger than yours. Mostly 9-10 year olds. Next year, our main concept is 'Diversity'. We have been looking to link up world-wide for some time. Looking forward to getting this underway. Unfortunately as you may be aware - we only have three weeks of school left until our big Christmas break so we'll have to get started ASAP. We also have a music specialist at our school. She is amazing. She connects with our talented learners through music. Anyway - I'm off to investigate Voicethread! Ka kite...
