I am a PhD student at the university of Connecticut, and I am interested in 20th/21st century Quebecois literature and theatre. I have presented on Antonine Maillet and will present in November on Anne Hebert. Although a specific disseration topic has yet to be determined, I am interested by biography, fiction and how the two mix in Quebecois novels/plays written by women/ about women.
I am also very interested in new applications that could better help my students in both foreign language (French) and literature classes. I am just now learning about all the wonderful opportunities that Web2.0 applications have to offer instructors and students. Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated on what has worked for all of you. Please feel free to leave me tips!

Hi again, we seem to both be online at the same time. Thank you for the link! Funny enough, you have chosen the same Ning layout as us in our Asia-Europe project! As spring term starts, though, and more students hopefully join our project we are planning to ask some of the students to come up with a unique layout and try and upload it...
You are working the university students, right??
Hi Jessica,
Thank you for your offer to join your French Ning. This year I am only teaching a 1st-year high school group in French, and I'm afraid their French is still too basic to talk about literature or anything more involved than simple everyday conversations. What is the URL of your Ning, though, I'd be interested to have a look, since I'm using Ning myself for an international school project.
HAPPY NEW YEAR from freezing Finland!
Hello!
Thanks for inviting me!
We're going back to school tomorrow. I'll tell my teachers about frenchbookclub.ning.com so that they can have a look and participate with their students. I hope one/some of them will collaborate.
Bye
With your interest in Web 2.0 Applications, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.
