Unfortunately, it's not in the budget this year. Hopefully next year's budget will open those doors for me!

    Hi Rita,

It's great to hear from you about ePals. I am planning on doing a 45 minute session at our 11 district in-service, Oct 23rd. I'm interested in learning more about ePals and sharing that with our teachers. Any resources you can give me would be appreciated! I'm also open to doing a Skype or Elluminate session with you or someone on that day as well. I'm hoping to generate some interest.

    Thanks!

    Mary

    Hi Rita,

I would appreciate the PowerPoint slide. I was also thinking that we could do a pre-recorded message so I could link it to my website. The school building we are going to be at doesn't allow Skype. I thought a message from a teacher about what his or her kids are doing on ePals, talk about a project or something like that. I think we could generate some excitement!

    My email is marym@cesa12.k12.wi.us.

    Thanks!

    Mary

    Hi Rita,

I hear there is a lot of interest in ePals for our inservice on Oct 23rd. Can you send me the PowerPoint and anything else you think I should have? I know you are traveling on the 23rd. Perhaps there would be a wisconsin teacher we could skype with?!

    Thanks,

    Mary

Hi Rita! I'm enjoying our conversation about social networking.... :-)
  • Glenda

Thank you so much. I will pass this information along to our teachers. Hopefully, it will help to generate interest. A large part of our concern (and assuming that of other elementary school districts as well), is, of course, security and privacy. Do you have any recommendations for alleviating that fear and concern?
  • Crystal Brunelle

I missed the webinar unfortunately. Thanks for contacting me and letting me know other times.

Hello Dr. Oates! I am very excited for the Jayhawks as they continue to roll through their season. I'm still getting set up on here – slowly. But our school finally received our new computers this week. We have 4 imacs and I'm ready for my 4th grade math/science students to enter the digital future of education. EPals looks great. I may just have to set our class up!

Oh, And I was also a journalism major at KU and worked on the UDK from 1998-2000!

The presentation was interesting. I learned things that may be helpful if and when I get back in a traditional classroom. That will be at a minimum of two and a half to three years. I am currently a Distance Education Instructor of Electronics Technology.
    Take care,
    Charlie

Sorry. I have been inundated with projects of late. My friends and I are creating several online classes on a state test on ELL strategies. I am having many sleepless nights of late. I will have more time over the summer when I just do an adjunct position at a local college. Keep me posted:)
