About Me
Next to my work as a Deputy Head and teacher, I deeply focus on Web 2.0 applications. Additionally, I´m responsable for promoting European Projects like Comenius (Schoolprojects) or eTwinning (electronic partnerships between schools) for Bavaria/Germany. Moreover I´m a "FuturEnergy-Teacher" at the European Schoolnet and be in charge of competitions in Germany, e.g. www.futurenergia.org. At the moment I´m the coordinator of an eTwinning project called DigiSkills: www.e-digiskills.eu. Since September 08 I´m in charge for the EU funded project Web2Class as a coordinator. And I care about trainees from University of Regensburg (Faculty of Geography).

    Thanks for the comment!

I'm actually working on a project of my own that you might be interested in:

I am a 20 year old college student from Olin College of Engineering. I am a part of a group of 6 Olin College students (we're in Needham, MA, and engineering students) who have taken a year off to work on an education related project. Since you are in the 'connecting content and technology' group, I thought you might be interested! Our project is called AlightLearning, and this is our "short" project description:

Under the assumption that within ten years, the landscape of modern education will have fully integrated what we now define as new classroom media: video, online collaboration, open source curriculum and other web tools, we hope to pioneer a web software tool that acts as a platform for this new media, bringing the power of the web and its tools to students, teachers and parents in a secure, comfortable and innovative environment. Our goal is to have our free software at a pilot middle school by April 15th, 2009, continuing to develop and coordinate with our users to create a product that other schools want to pilot and use at their schools, while allowing individual teachers to implement this tool in their own classroom.

Our project, titled Alight Learning, is currently trying to win an idea competition on Ideablob.com You can find us at http://ideablob.com/3975 . We would love your support in the form of a vote within the next couple days, but more importantly we'd love your feedback and comments. Our description on Ideablob is short, and even the one above hardly gets at many of the issues we would like to take a stab at solving, but at least it's a start.

Feel free to email me back, check out alightlearning.com, anything you like!

    Thanks,

    Alyshia Olsen

    Hallo Hans,

Hi Hans, great to meet you and hear about your interest in Web 2.0 applications. I've joined your Comenius network.

Many schools from Germany and all round Europe use our community to help their Comenius partnerships. Feel free to have a look around at www.rafi.ki- it's totally free for teachers.
  • Octávio Lima

Thanks a lot for your nice words and invitation. I'll take a look as soon as possible.

Hi Hans - and thanks for your welcome!! Is nice to hear from someone from so far away - the joy of the technological world! My husband and I have been "host mum and dad" for two German students so far and we have thoroughly enjoyed their company! Such polite boys and we have learnt so much from them.

I can see that this site is a great source of inspiration and ideas - so am looking forward to experimenting and learning all I can! That is the thing I love about teaching - you could never possibly get bored!!!

    Cheers
    Annette

Hi Hans, Happy New Year to you too.

This was my view on NYE - it looked even better with the fireworks.

Thanks for the welcome. I've just had a (very) quick look at Digiskills and will look into it in more detail over the next few days. There is so much that can be done in the classroom, sometimes it's hard to know where to start.

    Hi Hans
Nice to meet you. I am not using Mahara but have heard about it. When I was working in New Zealand, I was working with Knowledge Net , a learning management system. In Australia, the concept of e-portfolios is really at an infant stage, if just beginning at all. I am going to use blogs for my students to create their e-portfolios. I have to be careful with this re age of my students and safety. I am a little concerned about whether this will support the true purpose of an e-portfolio, but my main focus for my MAsters is developing my practice in developing students who know how to teach themselves and who are reflective, self-directed learers.
I want to improve my knowledge of audio and video for reflection, rather than just having written reflections posted on a blog. I also want to encourage peer, parent and teacher feedback.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated or any sites or links that you think would be helpful, please pass these my way. I would also be interested in collaborating or chatting to other people who are interested in this field. I will follow your link and will keep in touch.
  • Gail Mitchell

    Hi Hans
I will have a look at all of the links. My students are 8-9 years old. I have a class website and each student has their own blog. The site is http://ourvoice2009year4.wikispaces.com

Hello Mr. Feldmeier. I am a general music teacher in Memphis, TN, and new to Classroom 2.0. I found your page while browsing the members area and wanted to invite you to participate in an online classroom/cultural exchange - your students and my students communicating with each other, sharing their work and developing a global relationship (for lack of a better term). Please let me know if you would like to try this. It has proven to be a successful way for my students to develop their communication skills and strengthen their appreciation for other cultures - nationally and internationally. I have a Voicethread posted on my page if you want to have a look - this would be an easy way for our students to communicate. You can also check out my students' projects on our music web page at http://web.me.com/knrgreene/RMSMusicMediaNetwork/Welcome.html. Hope to hear from you!

    Hello Hans,

I´m very pleased of knowing you. I´m just starting to deal with Web 2.0 tools for education and it´s better learning together with other teachers than on your own. That´s why I´ve joined this network.
Well, these days I´m "fighting" with edu20.org and moodle. I´ve just created a moodle class on http://clase20.com.edumoot.com, hosted by "Key to School".
I hope I´ll have time for sharing my experiences.

    Greetings from Motril (Granada)
  • Hans Feldmeier
