Hi Katherine! I see that you live in Hawaii and that you like to use skype. I am big fan of skype and was wondering if you would like to try to connect through skype. I have 18 eager 1st graders that love skype. Let me know when you get the chance. Thanks!

Hi Katherine. I am definitely interested in collaborating with you. I am currently teaching A Brave New World. We just started the book and I think that the students might appreciate some visuals. Let me know any ideas that you have. I am open to anything.

Dear Katherine,

Thank you. I think that you have a great idea for the presentation and discussion. The course time is 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. I was thinking that the presentation would start at 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. I am free to meet with you online at Skype any evening starting November 30, 2009 except Tuesday and Thursday night. Please let me know which date and time works best for you.

Thank you again.

Sincerely,

Dear Katherine,

Please let me know which date is best for you. Are you familiar with Skype, DIM- DIM, Elluminate, or Moodle? We will need to decide which course delivery tool we would like to use. Please let me know which date and time works best for you?

Thank you again.

Sincerely,

About Me
I am creating an online course for the teaching of art and architecture in a unique way. This is a stand alone course and a course that will add to history courses on a global basis. If you go to ahaafoundation.org you can check out one or two of the micro-lessons and get back to me. This subject, Art History is left out of most schools and yet it will enrich history, geography and literature courses. What I am producing does not have to be used as a course it can be used as a research resource for other courses. It is question based which provides for lesson plans for teachers. I would like the students to hear the music that would go with the micro lesson they are studying.

What is not easily clear is that I want the students and teachers to make something after they have studied the information in each micro-lesson. I feel that they will get a much better understanding of what they have just learned. Learn something, make something, and make music about the work you have just studied. I think that these micro lessons provide a look into the culture of each society over time. This course is free and I am looking for comments and collaboration.

It is important to me to find a way to let teachers know about the work I am doing as it is not a lesson plan, it is a course. It is not the usual art history course as it works its way around the world. I would love to have an interested group that will cheer me on and add input or just do something.

I hope you have time to look at ahaafoundation.org which is the art history site.

I look forward to hearing from you.
Warmly,

Katherine Bolman, PhD
