Nearing 22,000! Looking good!

WOW! The response so far this season has been phenomenal! This is the first season during which Studica Skills has had a representative working solely on the task of getting the word out there. I have been in my position for just over two months, and we are seeing the impact already! Busy updating my stuff....

A couple of updates:

OpenIWB for the Wiimote Whiteboard and as an opensource IWB software

I hope to have an Open-IWB 2D software ready to download here in a month or so ..... More along the lines of what notebook is for the Smartboard (stripped down free version) ........something free and for the Wiimote board users with similar functionality.... It will accompany the Edusim 3D software and will be built around the Squeakland project.

Mac Book Air

I'm sure you have all heard about the new Laptop from Apple. Looks great, but will it work as promissed? I don't like tha fact that I have to use a second computer with a CD drive to load software onto the Mac Book Air. That seems to be an inconvenience to me. I know that eventually CD drives will become obsolete in the near future, just like the Floppy Drives. Remember those. I hope you're not still using them. :) But, what if I want to watch a DVD during a plane flight? I don't want to rent… Continue

Preparing the e-MINTS laptops

I was invited to help transfer images from a prepared laptop to the new laptops for our e-MINTS computers today! We had a fun three hours as we set up the area and completed the first 40. There are now only about 650 more computers to transfer images to. It's nice that they did not all have to be done in ONE day!

Spring08: first week... finished!

HAPPY FRIDAY! We have reached the end of the first week of classes. Normally, I don't even have work due on Friday in my classes, but because of the Martin Luther King Day holiday on Monday, there are some assignments that students are turning in today. ClusterMap on Blogmeister page

My students who I set up on blogs just before winter break are really having a good time. They've been working on an author study since November, and the blog has been the perfect venue to write their book reviews. Train Music Program

I am doing a Kindergarten music program about trains. I already have some cute ideas, but wanted some more. The songs I have already found are: Engine, Engine #9, I've been Working on the Railroad, Down By the Station, Get On Board, Little Red Caboose, A Long Way Home, Freight Train, and Clickety Clack. I need ideas for costumes, scenery, movement, more songs, etc.

Spring08: Help stamp out procrastination TODAY

I was not able to post yesterday: it is the most intensive day of my online classes - the day of the great weeding out. What happens is that on Tuesday, students had assignments due; if they did not turn all of them in on Tuesday, they had a reprieve and were given a one-time only extension until Wednesday.
